Steady, Student-Focused Leadership

Building on a record

In a second term on our School Board, Tyler will remain committed to the important and vital role Fayette County Public Schools play in our community. Building on his record, Tyler will prioritize the following:

Investing in Our Children

Education is our most important and critical investment. Tyler continues to advocate for full and adequate funding of education in Frankfort and shepherds sound fiscal management in FCPS to ensure we maximize our district budget–amounting to nearly a billion dollars–for the benefit of the children who are the core of the work we do. This includes investing in our staff–educators, counselors, and classified staff–who make this work possible and an intentional, meaningful focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging to ensure every child has the resources and opportunity to meet and exceed their potential.

Protecting Public Education

Powerful forces are committed to unraveling public education, stifling the freedom to teach and learn, dampening interest in education as a career, and shortchanging our students from the opportunities that expand their perspective and prepare them to excel in a global society. Tyler’s work protecting public education began long before his Board service but continues to serve at the foundation of his work. Tyler is a champion at the state and national levels for a vision that includes a great public school for every child in every Zip code.

Strengthening Community Partnerships

During the superintendent search process and the pandemic we’ve endured together, one thing was abundantly clear–we have a community who is invested in and cares about our public schools. Tyler is determined to continue finding ways to engage stakeholders, work collaboratively with civic and business leaders, and partner meaningfully with colleges and universities to expand the educator workforce and student opportunities. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a village to operate a public school system as vibrant and valued as FCPS.
